FAQs

What is Maslows Meals?

Maslow’s Meals was founded to bridge the food resource gap in our community. Our mission is to create a standalone pantry where individuals and families can access nutritious food—no barriers, no judgment, just support when it's needed most..

Aren’t there already food pantries and soup kitchens in our area?

That's right! Our community has several resources to combat food insecurity. However, in order to receive food, pantries and other organizations must verify a person's need by confirming that they are at least 130% below the poverty line. If this information is found to be incorrect—whether intentional or not—during an audit, the individual may face fines, lose eligibility for SNAP and other benefits, or even face legal action. And that doesn’t sit right with us.

Why operate as a private entity? Doesn’t that make you ineligible for certain programs?

By operating as a private entity, we can serve more people in our community than traditional pantries. Free from restrictive aid requirements, we ensure that support reaches those who need it most. Plus, our model allows us to stock the essential items families truly need, rather than relying on random outside donations.

How do you determine if someone is eligible?

If someone feels the burden of food insecurity then they are eligible to receive services. Full stop.

What kind of donations do you accept?

At this time we only accept monetary donations as we look to establish a location for the pantry. If you are interested in another form of contribution, please join our newsletter! This will be the best way to stay informed as we make progress. You can also write in on our volunteer page.

I have a skill that could benefit Maslow’s Meals before the pantry opens. How can I get in touch?

We would love the help! Please sign up for the newsletter and visit our contact page. The team will be in touch!
